By choosing an apprenticeship, you haven’t just signed up for a course; you’ve launched a career.
You are now part of a community of learners, experts, and industry leaders dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.
At Derwent Training, we believe that the best way to learn is to do. You will bridge the gap between theory and practice, transforming your ambition into a professional mastery that no textbook alone can provide.
We are learner-first. This means we are here to support your journey with honesty, integrity, and a forward-thinking approach. We will provide the facilities, the guidance, and the industry-standard technology you need to succeed. In return, we ask for your commitment. Bring your “fresh thinking” and energy to your workplace every day. Challenge the status quo, ask questions, and never stop seeking improvement.
You are no longer just a student—you are an apprentice. Let’s get to work.
This handbook is a useful resource throughout your training. It is intentionally digital. It will provide you with everything you need to know. It will direct you to web-based pages that ensure you always have access to the latest information and that it is always available. It also reduces the need to print it out.
On completion of your apprenticeship, you can apply to have post-nominals (letters after your name) through the Association of Apprentices. These automatically show your achievement to your current and future employer.
Your next qualification is important. Whatever level of apprenticeship you have finished there is always a future step to keep developing your skills and talents and take your career to the next step.
