Who is this course for….

The course is designed to make delegates aware of the three main types of harness/lanyard system available for use when working at height.

Course Brief & Learning Outcome:
  • Understand the safety, benefit and legislation concerned with this type of work
  • Be aware of the IPAF harness statement H1
  • Be aware of the CE markings and harness inspection criteria
  • Be aware of the hierarchy of fall and protection measures
  • Be able to identify hazards and precautions
  • Be aware of your responsibility towards the maintenance and storage of equipment
  • Be aware of rescue requirements and options
  • Be aware of and able to complete a pre-use check of the equipment and how to fit it correctly
  • Be able to conduct safety harness checks
  • Understand the importance of the considerations required to enable the correct choice of system for the application
  • Be able to select and use the correct equipment for the task/job including anchor points.

This training course is for a maximum of 10 delegates. 

Other Information:
  • IPAF Fax Form – this will be attached to the email confirmation of your training course
  • Parking for the Trainer
  • PPE. Delegates attending must bring their own PPE including full body restraint harness and lanyard, hi-vis clothing, safety footwear and hard hat (chin strap preferable), in accordance with your company policy
  • All training will be completed at your premises.

On completion of the IPAF Safety Harness course delegates will receive an IPAF card which is valid for 5 years.

Terms & conditions

1.1) If making a course booking more than 2 weeks from enquiry a 50% non-refundable deposit is to be paid within 48 hours to confirm your course booking. The remaining balance will be due 2 weeks before commencement of the training. An invoice will be raised for the deposit amount upon receipt of the completed booking form.

1.2) If making a course booking less than 2 weeks from enquiry then 100% of the course fees are due to be paid within 48 hours to confirm your course booking.

1.3) If Derwent Training Association do not receive payment for the course booking within the time-frame then your date will be offered to another customer. If final payment is not received before the deadline, Derwent Training reserves the right to cancel the course and the remaining balance is to be paid by the customer.

1.4) For those delegates taking part in a course that requires final examination to gain certification, Derwent Training will not cover the costs of any resits required to pass the course. All resits are to be paid for by the customer. All certificates will be withheld by the training centre until payment has been received.
