Engineering the Future

Derwent Training were pleased to welcome 51 new starts to the training centre in September. An increase in apprenticeship starts from 2022 is a fantastic way to celebrate our 35th Year Supporting Apprentices.

The new learners will be working full-time with their employers to develop the relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours towards their chosen career path. Throughout the next four-years they will be working towards a nationally recognised qualification whilst earning a salary.

Claire Gavaghan, Chief Executive Officer of Derwent Training said this: ”Apprenticeships offer employers a route to train their staff who, in turn, make a difference to the business. I am delighted that employers in Yorkshire are using them to strengthen and improve, not only their company, but to ensure the region maintains a pipeline of skilled employees. Having surpassed the volume of least years enrolments in the first two months of this academic year, I believe the future is bright for the region as well as Derwent Traning.”

As well as welcoming our new learners, we are welcoming onboard 8 new employers, who join the 9 in 2022, who have all chosen Derwent Training as a partner to train the next generation of their business.

We would like to thank all partner employers for their continued support. Applications are now open for 2024, whether you are an employer looking to invest in apprenticeships or looking for your next step.
