We are a market leader in steel stockholding based on Dalton Industrial Estate, Thirsk looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has
aspirations to be a specialist at Electrical Maintenance Engineering. We provide steel tubes to a wide range of engineering and construction companies and have provided steel for the Wembley Arch and the Shard in London among many other high-profile projects.

Your training will be tailored to our business while receiving on-the-job mentoring from our Engineering Manager. Offsite day-release
training will be provided throughout the 3.5-year apprenticeship to cover topics in more detail.

This is a fantastic opening for a level 3 engineering apprenticeship (leading to a level 4 or degree),
with training and learning taking place in both a practical hands-on environment and within a workshop
environment.

From routine preventative maintenance, servicing and parts replacement to fault finding you will be trained in maintaining the safety, reliability, quality & performance across a diverse range of equipment including saws, automated handling systems, industrial lasers, cranes and much more.

Job Description:

Daily activities cover a wide range of disciplines including:

  • Fault finding, diagnosis & repairs
  • Programming of automated systems
  • Machine moving and installation
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Crane operations safety and awareness
  • Communication

The successful recruit must be able to make their own travel arrangements to National Tube Stockholders on Dalton Industrial Estate, Nr Thirsk and to Derwent Training in Malton. National Tube Stockholders is not on a public transport route.

Qualifications Required:

5 or more GCSE’s, including English and Science/Technical Subject at grade 4 or
above, and Maths (higher) at grade 5 or above are essential.

Desired qualifications: 3 A Levels predicted at grade C or above, to include: Mathematics and Science and/or Technology Subject
