Job Description:

A fabricator will produce work made from thick metal plates and structural steel sections, such as columns and beams, using a wide range of tools and equipment. This will contribute to projects for large-scale buildings such as the Nuclear Power Plant at Hinckley Point C - which is currently the largest construction site in Europe.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Assemble components by welding them together
  • Ensure finished welds are of a good standard and the required size
  • Use a variety of tools, welding equipment and overhead travelling cranes
  • Implementation and adhering to all health and safety policies and complete all paperwork relating to health and safety.

We have 5 apprenticeship positions available in this role.

Qualifications Required:

All applicants must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE's (Grade 9-4 / A*-C) including English, Maths and Science (grade 6 or equivalent) essential

Qualifications Gained(upon completion):

Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard.

Once you have completed your apprenticeship there is the opportunity to progress into Supervisory roles, Welding Inspection or Facilities Management
