February was the month to celebrate all things Apprenticeships during National Apprenticeship Week. An opportunity to share the benefits of Apprenticeships, and share case-studies of current and former apprentices.
We were pleased to welcome over 50 visitors to the training centre on Tuesday 7th February to allow them to have a look around our specialist training facilities, find out more information from Derwent Training Staff, as well as speaking to local employers and their apprentices about the opportunities available.
Thank you to the following employers, and their apprentices for showcasing their business on the evening:
- Severfield Products and Processing / Severfield Infrastructure
- William Hare Limited
- Sylatech
- James Fisher Nuclear
- Forum Energy Technologies
- Ellis Patents
- Schneider Electric
- McCain.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Claire Gavaghan, had this to say about the Open Event: ”The volume of interest in our Open Event shows a number of things: more people are considering Apprenticeships as a credible option to going to University; people view engineering as an exciting career choice; and employers trust Derwent Training to deliver on the investment they make in training their employees. We have a growing number of job vacancies on our website and an increasing number of applicants. Confidence is expanding in the industry which will only benefit productivity regionally and nationally.”
We do not have any more Open Event’s booked in for the moment. If you are thinking about an Apprenticeship as your next step and would like to have a look around our training centre, please contact our Business Support Team on 01653 697698 or on info@derwenttraining.co.uk
