As well as standard off-the-shelf products for Satcom applications, A1 are a specialist in very demanding custom designs, working with design engineers from the concept stage onwards to produce the exact solution to the clients needs.

Two positions are available with A1 Microwave.

 

Job Description:

A1 Microwave are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented CNC- Manufacturing Apprentices to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in precision engineering and manufacturing. They are a specialist manufacturing company where precision and quality is paramount so require an individual who believes they will excel in this environment. You will receive hands-on training in CNC machining, Manufacturing, Fabrication and quality control/assurance while working alongside experienced professionals. You will also receive off site professional training through Derwent training in Malton.

Day to day duties include

  • Assist in the Set up & operate CNC Milling machines.
  • Assist in the Set up & operate Manual machines.
  • Learn & develop in our in-house casting process.
  • Assist with our manufacturing & fabrication process.
  • Assist with our dispatch process.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Support the production team in manufacturing high-quality components to tight tolerances.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines in the workshop.
  • Document work processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with senior machinists and engineers to improve efficiency and quality.

 

Qualifications Required:

Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSE's (9-4 / A*-C) including English and Maths. (A higher grade in Maths would be preferable)

  • Good understanding of mathematics and measurements

Qualifications Gained(upon completion):

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Machining
