Job Description:

The Apprentice Electronics Test Technician plays a key role in supporting the Manufacturing Department by ensuring that electronic instrumentation is thoroughly tested and prepared for final assembly and dispatch. This apprenticeship position serves as a training and development opportunity for individuals pursuing a technical career in electronics testing and manufacturing. The successful candidate will be trained to perform diagnostic and functional testing of electronic products, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Perform functional and diagnostic testing of electronic assemblies and finished products using test equipment and procedures provided.
  • Identify faults and carry out basic troubleshooting on electronic components and circuit boards, escalating complex issues to senior technicians or engineers.
  • Follow detailed test procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure consistent and accurate testing results.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of test results, faults found, and corrective actions taken.
  • Assist in the preparation of products for final inspection, packaging, and dispatch.
  • Participate in the goods-in and goods-out processes, including checking deliveries and preparing shipments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by offering suggestions for process or quality enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company health and safety policies.
  • Support other areas of production as needed, including assembly and ad hoc duties as required by supervisors.
Qualifications Required:

Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) including English and Maths.

  • Adaptability and understanding of ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications Gained(upon completion):

Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Standard (Which contains the Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering)
