AITT Slinging Training (Novice/Experienced)

Who is this course for....

This course is designed to train delegates in safe slinging techniques. It makes them aware of their legal responsibilities and takes them through a safe system of work. It introduces them to the lifting tackle in a way that is thorough yet easily understood and explains the importance of understanding and adhering to the Safe Working Load of all equipment involved with a lift. Safe working procedures for items such as eyebolts, shackles, chain shortening clutches and rigging screws is included along with chain, man-made fibre and wire rope slings of 1 to 4 legs. A range of specialist lifting accessories from plate clamos to vacuums can also be included. 

Delegates will learn the importance of sling angles and correct load attachment and will be taught weight estimation techniques.

  • Classroom for theory with table, chairs and an electric socket
  • Calculators, pens and paper for delegates to work out load weights
  • Appropriate lifting accessories in sound conditionand in date for thorough examination as per LOLER regulations
  • Crane or other lifting devices in safe working order and in date for thorough examination as per LOLER regulations
  • Safe practical training area
  • Suitable loads to use during training
  • Range of lifting accessories as will be used in the workplace
  • Ensure you have available on the day of training a certified operator on the equipment you require the slinging in conjunction with e.g. overhead crane, lorry loader, telehandler, counterbalance and any other
  • All training will be done on your premises.
