Early November saw a small group of DTA apprentices help with the creation and painting of new railings for the Malton and Norton War Memorial, which has been jointly organised with the Malton and Norton Rotary. 

Recently completed apprentice Jacob Biggs, who in October received a DTA Apprentice of the Year Award, worked on the manufacture of the railings at his employer TWS Fabrication at their base in Leavening. He was then involved with installing them at the War Memorial site on York Road, Malton. This shows invaluable work that recently completed apprentices are doing and how they are real assets to their employers. 

Thursday 11th October saw over 120 guests attend DTA's Awards and Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the success of all apprentices during 2017 and 2018. We were pleased to hold the evening at Malton and Norton Rugby Club for a third year and it was a great setting for the evening. 

We were honoured to welcome the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, David Kerfoot MBE to present some of the 40 graduates with their certificates and to congratulate them on successfully completing their apprenticeships as well as awarding 20 apprentices with their Apprentice of the Year awards. 

DTA were pleased to be engineering the next generation in Yorkshire during Scarborough Science and Engineering Week which took place at the Scarborough Spa over a very busy 3 days!

In attendance were some fantastic employers like Dale Power Solutions, Schneider Electric, McCains, Unison, Rosti and Kingspan who were there to showcase all that is great about STEM in Yorkshire. 

Electrical and Electronic Higher Apprentices Matthew Tindall, Mike Coates, Joe Godliman and Darren Kirk were pleased to have visited Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) in Hunmanby on Tuesday 25th September to help them with their HND studies. 

Come along to our Apprenticeship Open Evening on Tuesday 16th October. There is no need to book; just drop in anytime between 4pm and 7pm. 

The evening will give visitors the opportunity to speak to local employers about careers in engineering, have a look around DTA's specialist engineering training facilities as well as the chance to ask current apprentices about their experience and how they got into an apprenticeship.
