Derwent Training Association are pleased to welcome over 40 apprentice starts to the training centre during September.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Claire Gavaghan said this: ''The impact of the pandemic together with the withdrawal from the EU has impacted on the engineering sector. The industry is regrouping and we are pleased to support them by training their employees. We have welcomed a large number of new apprentices, and employers are continuing to recruit as productivity increases. We are alongside them every step of the way.''
The training centre is not a public place and as such, we are able to have Health and Safety restrictions and regulations to ensure Covid resilience.
It is crucial that we remain vigilant and protect everyone's health. We must also reduce as much as possible the likelihood of Covid circulating in the centre and an endless cycle of moving to temporary remote learning.
Thursday 2nd September saw over 80 guests attend Derwent Training Association's Apprentice Awards Evening which is held to celebrate the achievements of apprentices during 2021. We were pleased to hold the celebration at The York House Marquee at The Talbot Hotel, Malton for a second year which was a fantastic setting to enjoy the sunshine, and celebrate the apprentices with their families and their employers.
We were honoured to welcome Sue Jefferson, Chair of the Business Board at the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, to announce and present the apprentices with their Apprentice of the Year Awards.
