The role will involve hands-on electronic assembly and manufacturing, including working with PCBs and circuit boards, soldering components, wiring and electrical assembly. You will be trained to read circuit diagrams and technical drawings, assemble and test electronic products, identify and resolve faults, and use a range of tools and test equipment.

You will also be trained in maintaining safety, reliability, and quality across a range of electronic equipment, developing the practical and technical skills required for a career in electronics and electrical engineering.

Hydramotion has two apprenticeship positions available in this role.

Job Description:

Most of your apprenticeship will be spent gaining practical, hands-on experience in the workplace. You’ll learn by doing, developing your skills and knowledge through real-world tasks alongside experienced colleagues.

Daily activities cover a wide range of disciplines including:

  • PCB assembly and electronic component fitting
  • Wiring and electrical assembly
  • Reading circuit diagrams and technical drawings
  • Soldering
  • Testing and checking electronic equipment
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and basic repairs
  • Using electronic test equipment and hand tools
  • Quality control and inspection
  • Following electrical, workplace and safety procedures
  • Maintaining the reliability and performance of equipment
  • Understanding electronic components and circuits
  • Recording test results and completing production documentation
  • Product preparation, packing and labelling for dispatch
  • Supporting general business and day-to-day company activities
  • Working as part of a team and communicating with colleagues
  • Using computers and relevant software
  • General office and administrative skills
  • Planning and organising your workload
  • Developing problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
Qualifications Required:

All applicants must have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs (9-4 / A*-C) including English and Maths.
